Supported Employment Program

The Supported Employment Program secures paid employment (full time and part-time), and provides job training and support for adults with intellectual disabilities. The program helps individuals enhance their economic self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and integration into the community. Bona fide competitive employment is available as individual placements with support services by a job coach gradually fading as the individual becomes more proficient on the job. It is also available as work crews, in which a crew of up to four individuals is supervised and trained by a job coach 100% of the time. Supported employment requires work hours of no less than 20 hours a week, and can include employment of 40 hours a week, with benefits matching those of the non-disabled workers at
the job site.

Supported Employment is good business. It saves time by reducing turnover and the need for employers to constantly hire and train new employees. It provides people willing to work and maintain steady employment, people who are reliable and punctual. Supported employment saves money by reducing the expense of company recruitment and training. Our program provides placement and training of people who will do the work well and who care about their jobs, people who are competent and thorough.
There is an employment opportunity in each and every company – Let us help you make this opportunity good business.
